Shari L. Dunn
Shari joined the Chancellor’s Office in January 2012. As Senior Executive Assistant to the Chancellor, she focuses on personal management of the Chancellor’s time and workflow; manages the day-to-day coordination of the Chancellor’s schedule; and provides research and analysis to the Chancellor and Chief of Staff as needed. She works with the Chancellor to implement her personal communication strategy internally and externally, including composing and editing correspondence, speeches, statements for media and public relations, and executive communications. She is responsible for facilitating the flow of accurate communication among the Chancellor, the Chief of Staff, on-campus administrators, the UNC system office, the Board of Trustees, national and international dignitaries, community and political leaders, the general public, faculty, staff and students. Shari is a member of the Chancellor’s Cabinet.
Prior to joining UNC Charlotte, Shari served in multiple roles at Pfeiffer University, including Director of the Annual Fund and Executive Assistant to the President, for 11 years. Other previous experience includes The Cannon Foundation, Inc. in Concord, North Carolina, Uwharrie Capital Bank in Albemarle, North Carolina and CenterState Bank in Winter Haven, Florida.
Shari graduated magna cum laude from Wingate College with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and minors in Accounting and English. She earned a Master of Business Administration degree with a Human Resources Concentration from Pfeiffer University. She is a member of the Professional Speechwriters Association and an alumna of The Leadership Experience at UNC Charlotte.
